The opening exhibition of “Hyper Museum Hanno,” a unique contemporary art museum set to open in Metsä in March 2025, will feature the world-renowned artist Kenji Yanobe. His large-scale exhibition “BIG CAT BANG” at GINZA SIX has gained tremendous popularity and sparked widespread attention. This opening exhibition, “SHIP’S CAT ISLAND,” will be the sequel to “BIG CAT BANG,” the story of space cats that brought life to human beings.
A “Cat Island” artwork with a circumference of 50 meters on which space cats are resting will appear in Lake Miyazawa at Metsä! The exhibition also includes the display of large-scale artworks in the plaza and other areas, as well as three-dimensional artwork and original drawings in the museum. This exhibition is planned and curated by Shigeo Goto, the director of the museum.
