Viva Riva Project: New Deme
This monument to revival has a figure standing in "The Ruins of the Future". The work was created based on a motif of a discarded robot on the former site of the 1970 Osaka Expo. NEW DEME is standing like a sumo wrestler. There is a connection with the standing form of STANDA. It has fallen prostrate, as if its role were finished. Its heated face is submerged in water. NEW DEME carries on its back uranium ore and moss that grew naturally in the cabin of the Expo Tower 100 meters above the ground.
